Network Affiliates | Shattered

People always describe car accidents as happening ‘in the blink of an eye’. We’re slowing down that moment by shooting Phantom HD Gold at 1000fps. Our amazing crew built a stylized cabin, complete with seatbelts and an airbag, on a turntable mounted on a 20-foot sled. To simulate the violence of the collision, we’re firing 6 glass cannons (silicone ‘glass’) and 2 air guns on impact.     agency | Network Affiliates director | Jeff Feierstein writer, script supervisor | Megan Cull dp | Scott Tuke ac | Doug O’Kane phantom tech | Heath Firestone dit | Carl Otto, Eric Anolin 2nd unit dp | Tom Baldonado gaffer | Chris Gerding key grip | Matt Stelling grips | Mitch Stelling, Tony Thomas art director | Dylan Kiszlowski set decorators | Chris Rink, Joe Crowley talent | Radical, Big Fish, and Arial Dance Over Denver makeup | Tanya Jones craft services | Charlene Galway still photography | Paul Trantow stage | Colorado Studios production supplies | Koerner Camera, Colorado Studios

LiveWell – Your Wake-Up Call

Following-up a successful 2011 campaign, Launch put together another talented production team to create Your Wake-Up Call. Kontagious TV hired Colorado’s Kevin Emmons to shoot bird’s eye view photography of different bedroom sets using ARRI Alexa on a Fisher crane. Donald cut the offline in AVID DS, using 422 ProRes HQ files. Eric conformed an EDL from AVID to the Alexa 4444 Log-C files in Baselight, then rendered out new 422 ProRes shots for final online and vfx with Donald.

MSP 2011 Ski Feature – “Attack of La Niña”

The Colorado ski season is just around the corner, and I’m ready for the snow to fly after finishing color on Matchstick Productions’ “Attack of La Niña”. The feature was shot on location in Colorado, Alaska, British Columbia, Washington and California, during the 2010-2011 season, one of the snowiest in recent history. The MSP crew shot several formats, including RED, Panasonic AF100, Phantom, 16mm film and more. I cranked out the color work in a marathon two day Baselight session and delivered Apple ProRes HQ 422. The MSP edit team layed off the final master to HDCam for the movie tour. On Saturday, September 17th, the film premiered in two cities on the same night, two sold-out shows in Boulder, CO and Montreal, QC. I’ll be attending the Denver premiere tonight at The Gothic Theater. Tickets are still available, and as always, there will be plenty of ski-related giveaways. **the above trailer from MSP was cut prior to final color-grade… you’ll have to catch the movie tour to see the finished looks!

CCT+Media Pantry for Rocky Mountain Health Plans

A rainy and snowy Colorado day won’t stop this year’s production. We started in the knee-deep powder at Loveland Ski Resort; moved on to gorgeous interiors in rainy Idaho Springs; and now we’re dancing with a cowboy at  in the Highlands. CCT will shoot two commercials over the next two days in various front range locations for Rocky Mountain Health Plans. Theresa Wingert and Henry Lynk (Media Pantry) are shooting Canon 7D.  I’m wrangling data and auditioning color grades in Baselight for Mac. Henry’s martini… not THE martini
